Madhya Pradesh has recorded a 42.03 per cent increase in higher education admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, with more than 2.93 lakh students securing seats in undergraduate and postgraduate courses by June 30.
According to the Higher Education Department, 5,48,778 students registered on the e-Admission portal this year. Of these, 4,68,539 completed document verification, while 2,93,257 students confirmed admissions in colleges across the state.
The department said admissions have increased by 86,775 students compared with the same period last year. By June 30, 2025, a total of 2,06,482 students had secured admission.
Officials attributed the growth to the department’s online admission system, timely document verification and streamlined counselling process.
To help fill vacant seats, the department has also simplified the admission process. Students seeking admission can now visit government or private colleges with vacant seats and complete registration, document verification, seat allotment and fee payment on the same day.
The department has urged eligible students to check the availability of vacant seats at nearby colleges and complete the admission process within the prescribed timeline.
