MP Targets 35,000 Jobs With Tech Push

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh on Monday launched the third edition of the MP Tech Growth Conclave in Bhopal, with the state government projecting investment proposals worth around Rs 40,000 crore and the potential creation of nearly 35,000 jobs across technology-driven sectors.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated the conclave, which has brought together investors, industry leaders and policy experts from India and abroad. The event aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a major destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), semiconductor manufacturing and data centres.

Addressing the gathering, the chief minister said the state has expanded beyond its traditional agricultural identity and is now emerging as a manufacturing and technology hub. He said Madhya Pradesh is witnessing growth in advanced sectors, including drones, defence manufacturing, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

The state government said around 51 activities are planned during the conclave, including business meetings, technology discussions and partnership announcements. Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are also expected to be exchanged to strengthen investment and digital infrastructure.

As part of its infrastructure plans, the government announced a new IT park on Indore’s Super Corridor with plug-and-play facilities for technology companies. In Bhopal, the existing IT Park will be expanded with an ultra-modern facility covering around 400,000 sq ft. Another IT park is also planned on a five-acre site along Kolar Road to accommodate IT and digital businesses.

The chief minister said the government remains committed to promoting artificial intelligence, innovation, research and industry-academia collaboration to support future technologies.

According to the state government, companies including CTRLS Datacenters, Kaynes Technology, Fujiyama Power and Nyobolt Limited are participating in the conclave alongside academic institutions such as IIM Indore and IISER, with discussions focusing on investment, skill development and research.

The chief minister also referred to his visit to Barcelona in 2025, saying the trip led to investment commitments from companies based in Spain, the United States and Canada. He added that a memorandum of understanding signed for a proposed 1-gigawatt AI data centre is progressing, with company representatives attending this year’s conclave.

The government said the first two editions of the MP Tech Growth Conclave attracted investment proposals worth more than Rs 32,000 crore combined and generated significant employment commitments. The latest edition is expected to further strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position as an emerging technology and investment destination.
