INDORE: A man died after being struck by a moving train while attempting to board it at Indore Railway Station on Friday morning, railway police said.
According to police, the victim had arrived in Indore from Gwalior on an overnight train at around 9:30 a.m. He was travelling to Ratlam and was heading from Platform 4 to Platform 1 to catch a DEMU service.
Police said the accident occurred when he tried to board a moving train. He reportedly slipped while attempting to get on, fell onto the tracks and was run over. He died at the scene.
The victim had travelled to Indore for business-related work, police said.
Railway police sent the body for a post-mortem examination and informed the man’s family. Relatives living in Indore reached the railway station soon after the incident, while family members from Gwalior were travelling to the city after being notified.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
