BHOPAL: Mahi Lama has been selected in the Indian team for the Boxing World Cup 2026 and will represent the country in the women’s 60kg category.
The tournament will be held in China from June 15 to 20. The Indian squad left for China on Saturday ahead of the competition.
Mahi Lama trains at the State Boxing Academy in Bhopal and earned her place in the national team after a series of strong performances at national and international events.
She said her focus is on delivering a strong performance at the World Cup and winning a medal for India.
Sports officials said her selection reflects the growing strength of boxing in Madhya Pradesh and serves as an inspiration for young athletes aiming to compete at the international level.
They expressed confidence that Mahi Lama would perform well and contribute to India’s campaign at the tournament.
