INDORE: A home diesel delivery service has been launched in Indore, allowing customers to order fuel for generators, agricultural equipment, construction machinery and other industrial uses through WhatsApp.
The service, branded as “Zipp Fuel”, has been introduced by a Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. dealer and is being promoted as the first initiative of its kind in Madhya Pradesh.
Diesel will be supplied in Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO)-approved containers, ensuring compliance with government regulations on fuel transportation and storage.
The service follows stricter enforcement of diesel distribution rules that permit fuel to be dispensed only in approved containers. The move is expected to help customers who require diesel for generators, farm equipment, construction machinery and other commercial applications.
Customers can order between 20 and 200 litres of diesel in multiples of 20 litres. Petrol is not included in the delivery service.
Orders can be placed through a WhatsApp chatbot, which allows customers to select the quantity required, provide a delivery address, choose a preferred delivery time and make payment arrangements. Both online payments and cash-on-delivery options are available.
Each delivery vehicle is equipped with certified measuring equipment, including a calibrated five-litre measuring can, enabling customers to verify the quantity supplied. A service charge of ₹25 per container will apply.
The vehicles are also fitted with fire extinguishers and other safety equipment. Delivery personnel can dispense diesel directly into generators, machinery or authorised fuel tanks at the delivery location.
The service is initially available across most parts of Indore. Operators aim to complete deliveries within four hours, depending on demand and distance.
According to the company, the initiative could serve as a model for urban diesel distribution as demand grows for more convenient fuel delivery services.
