BHOPAL: Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana on Thursday said newly trained constables of the Special Armed Force (SAF) must develop technological expertise to effectively tackle emerging challenges such as cybercrime, law and order management and internal security threats.
Addressing the passing-out parade of constables at the 25th Battalion of SAF in Bhopal, Makwana said constables form the backbone of the police organisation and play a key role in strengthening policing and public trust.
He said the recruits underwent nearly 11 months of rigorous training in weapon handling, riot control, crowd management, cybercrime response and modern policing practices. The programme also focused on discipline, teamwork, physical fitness and practical policing skills.
Highlighting future policing requirements, the DGP said advanced technologies such as drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring and integrated command systems would be crucial for handling large-scale events, including Simhastha 2028.
Makwana urged the constables to uphold discipline, integrity and constitutional values while remaining sensitive towards the public. “After wearing the uniform, a police officer’s foremost duty is public service, upholding the law and safeguarding national interest,” he said.
The ceremony featured silent drill and yoga demonstrations, while outstanding trainees were honoured for excellence during training in the presence of senior police officials, instructors and family members.
