The Census 2027 house listing exercise is continuing across Bhopal, with officials urging residents to cooperate with enumerators and share their Self Enumeration IDs during field visits. Authorities also honoured supervisors and enumerators for outstanding performance in the ongoing census work.
Field work under the first phase of Census 2027 began on May 1 and will continue until May 30 in Madhya Pradesh. During the campaign, enumerators are visiting homes to digitally collect information related to houses, families and other structures.

District Census Officer Bhuvan Gupta said many families have already completed the Self Enumeration process. However, some residents are still not sharing their Self Enumeration IDs with enumerators.
Officials appealed to residents to share the ID during field visits to help save time and ensure accurate information is entered in the Census 2027 house listing process. Families that have not completed self-enumeration were also asked to provide complete and correct information to authorised survey staff.
According to officials, all information collected during the census remains fully confidential under Section 15 of the Census Act, 1948. Authorities clarified that census data is used only for statistical purposes and cannot be shared under the Right to Information Act. Officials also warned that providing false information or refusing to answer census-related questions may attract penalties under the law.

Meanwhile, the district administration honoured supervisors and enumerators who achieved excellent performance during the census survey. The felicitation programme was organised at the Bhopal Collectorate auditorium under the direction of Collector Priyank Mishra.
Additional District Magistrate Ankur Meshram and Additional Commissioner of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation Hirendra Kushwah congratulated the officials and appreciated their contribution to the national census exercise.
Officials said 163 LHBs achieved 100 per cent performance out of 956 LHBs in Berasia, Huzur, Kolar and Berasia Nagar Parishad areas. Authorities awarded certificates to enumerators and supervisors for completing the work efficiently and within the scheduled timeline.
At present, Bhopal district has 4,184 census blocks, including 3,251 in urban areas. Survey work is being carried out in Berasia, Huzur, Kolar and Berasia Nagar Parishad with the help of supervisors and field enumerators.
