A passenger bus caught fire while travelling near Indore on Thursday morning after a tyre reportedly burst, triggering panic among passengers. All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported, police said.
The incident took place at around 11 am near a police station in the Shipra area. The bus was travelling from Rewa to Indore when the front tyre allegedly burst while it was moving.
According to police, the driver managed to control the vehicle and stopped it safely. Initial findings suggest the burst tyre caused friction, which may have sparked the fire in the front section of the bus.
Firefighters reached the scene soon after receiving the alert and brought the blaze under control. The fire damaged the bus, but no casualties were reported.
Police helped passengers leave the bus safely and arranged another vehicle to take them to Indore. The incident caused brief disruption and panic at the scene before emergency crews completed rescue and firefighting operations.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Preliminary information indicates the blaze may have been caused by friction following the tyre burst, although officials said the findings will be confirmed after the inquiry is completed.
