Bhopal Heavy Rain: Upper Lake Level Rises, Roads Waterlogged

Bhopal: Heavy rain returned to Bhopal on Tuesday evening, with the city receiving intense showers for nearly an hour. The rainfall followed intermittent showers and drizzle that continued across the city since morning.

The renewed spell of heavy rain led to waterlogging on several roads, causing difficulties for motorists and commuters. Traffic movement was affected in some areas as rainwater accumulated on roads.

Continuous rainfall across Bhopal and nearby areas over the past two days has also pushed up the water level of the Upper Lake. In the last 48 hours, the lake level has increased by around four feet, reaching 1,663.05 feet. The full tank level of the Upper Lake is 1,666.80 feet.

A local resident said, “The heavy rain has caused water to collect on several roads, making it difficult to travel.”

The weather department has forecast continued monsoon activity across Madhya Pradesh, with light to heavy rainfall expected in different areas. Heavy rain has been forecast for 10 districts today, while further spells of rain are likely in Bhopal and surrounding areas.
