New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke has accused the government of targeting protesters demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, according to media reports.
Speaking at a press conference alongside Neha Bora and actor Prakash Raj, Dipke criticised the police action against demonstrators and alleged that the government was using its resources to protect Kumar.

He also questioned the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, claiming that 13 crore voter names had been deleted. The figure has featured in media coverage of the controversy, but the distinction between names removed from draft rolls and final deletions is important. The claim does not establish that all the deletions were wrongful.
Dipke further questioned the poll body’s impartiality, referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He also criticised the government’s “One Nation, One Election” proposal, alleging that its political agenda was closer to “One Nation, One Party”.
The remarks came amid protests in Delhi over alleged irregularities in electoral-roll revisions and demands for Kumar’s resignation.
According to media reports, police detained protesters and political activists during demonstrations on 10 and 11 October. CJP leaders Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were subsequently released by a court, media reports said.
The allegations against the government and the Election Commission remain contested and should not be presented as established findings.
