Bhopal Administration Acts Against Illegal Colonies

BHOPAL: The district administration on Saturday carried out an enforcement drive against six unauthorised residential colonies in different parts of Bhopal, officials said.

According to the administration, the colonies had been developed without obtaining the required approvals from the competent authorities. During the operation, officials removed roads, boundary walls, entrance gates and other structures erected within the colonies.

The action was conducted under the supervision of the Huzur Sub-Divisional Magistrate and covered colonies located in Kolukhedi, Barkhedi Bazyafat, Semri Bazyafat and Jamonia Chhir.

Officials said the developments were spread across land estimated to be worth about ₹82 crore. The drive forms part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to address unauthorised land development and ensure compliance with planning regulations.

The administration said action was taken against multiple colonies where infrastructure had been developed without the necessary permissions. Revenue and local administration officials were present during the operation.

Officials said similar enforcement drives had been undertaken in recent weeks and that additional unauthorised colonies had been identified for further action.

The administration maintained that measures against unauthorised developments would continue in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
