Actor Deepika Padukone has drawn attention on social media after new pictures from the sets of her upcoming film King surfaced online, showing her joining co-star Shah Rukh Khan during an outdoor shoot in Cape Town.
In the viral images, Padukone was seen walking alongside Khan in matching earthy-toned outfits. She appeared in a flowing dress reportedly designed to conceal her pregnancy, while Khan was seen in a rugged look featuring a striped shirt, blue trousers and accessories. The actor also appeared to have returned to a darker hair colour, moving away from his earlier salt-and-pepper look for the film.
According to social media posts and media reports, Padukone, who is expecting her second child with husband Ranveer Singh, has continued to fulfil professional commitments despite her pregnancy. She was earlier seen travelling to the South Africa schedule with Singh.
Industry reports state that the team of King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is currently filming an 18-day climax sequence. The schedule includes an initial shoot in Cape Town followed by a return to Mumbai for further production work. The film also features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and others.
King is expected to release in December 2026 and is positioned as a major action thriller. Media reports suggest it may face international box office competition from upcoming Hollywood releases, including Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, which are scheduled around the same period.
