JABALPUR: In a display of exceptional courage, a local man identified as Ramzan rescued four people after a cruise boat capsized at Bargi Dam in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district.
The incident occurred near an under-construction bridge site, where labourers were at work when the accident unfolded. Witnesses said the boat suddenly began to sink, triggering panic among those on board.

Ramzan, who was present at the site, immediately jumped into the water without protective gear or rescue equipment. Braving the risk, he managed to pull out six individuals from the water.
Of these, four were rescued alive, while two had already died by the time they were brought ashore, according to those present at the scene.
Officials are expected to conduct a detailed inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident.
