Sanchi Milk Costlier by Rs 2 Per Litre in MP From May 15

BHOPAL: Sanchi Dairy has increased milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in Madhya Pradesh. The new rates will come into effect from May 15. The price hike comes a day after Amul and Mother Dairy also raised milk prices by up to Rs 2 per litre.

Sanchi had last revised milk prices in May 2025. The dairy brand has the highest share in Bhopal’s packaged milk market, with daily sales of more than 7.5 lakh litres.

Amul sells around 90,000 litres of milk daily in the city. Other brands, including Saurabh and Shridhi, together account for more than one lakh litres of daily consumption in Bhopal and nearby rural areas. Mother Dairy’s sales are mainly limited to urban areas.

Despite the strong demand for packaged milk, loose milk continues to see higher consumption in Bhopal. Around 10 lakh litres of loose milk are sold every day, according to market estimates. Prices of loose milk were also increased by up to Rs 2 per litre in recent days.

Even after the latest revision, loose milk remains cheaper than packaged milk by nearly Rs 10 per litre.

Amul and Mother Dairy implemented their revised prices from May 14. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells Amul products, said rising costs of cattle feed, packaging and fuel led to the increase.

Amul has raised milk prices for the first time since May 2025, while Mother Dairy last revised rates in April 2025.
