Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday inaugurated the 500 MW Neemch Solar Park and the 450 MW Shajapur Solar Park, marking a major step in Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy expansion. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi joined the event in Neemch.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for industrial units and development projects worth Rs 1,553.98 crore. According to the state government, the projects are expected to attract investment and create employment opportunities in the region.
The government said the Neemch Solar Park will supply electricity at a tariff of Rs 2.14 per unit, making it one of the lowest-cost solar power projects in the country. Officials also said the 550 MW Agar Solar Park is under construction and will further strengthen the state’s renewable energy capacity.
Dr Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is working to become a leading producer of clean and affordable energy while expanding industrial growth. He said districts such as Neemch, Mandsaur, Ratlam and Ujjain are emerging as new industrial centres in western Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 98 local development works worth nearly Rs 160 crore in Neemch. He announced Rs 17 crore for development works at the Bhadwa Mata Temple.

During the programme, the state government honoured gram panchayats for their performance under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, with Neemch ranked first in Madhya Pradesh. Students were also given helmets, and representatives of solar energy companies received certificates of appreciation.
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a major renewable energy hub and highlighted the state’s role in supplying clean power. He said the new solar parks would strengthen India’s transition towards green energy.
According to the state government, Madhya Pradesh has installed more than 12,000 MW of renewable energy capacity. Several new projects, including a large solar manufacturing facility in Maksi and the Agar Solar Park, are also under development.
The event was attended by Minister for New and Renewable Energy Rakesh Shukla, Minister in charge of Neemch district Nirmala Bhuria, MPs, MLAs and senior government officials.
