SAGAR: A 40-year-old journalist from Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district was found dead in a forest near Barman in Narsinghpur district, according to media reports.
Police reached the spot after getting information and found the body hanging from a tree. The body was sent for a post-mortem, and an investigation is in progress.
The journalist was later identified as a resident of Shahgarh in Sagar district. Police informed his family after confirming his identity. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem on Tuesday.
The family said they do not believe it was a suicide and raised doubts about the circumstances of the death. They asked for a fair investigation and urged police to look into every possible angle before reaching any conclusion.
According to media reports, the journalist had worked in Shahgarh for several years and had earlier worked as a teacher at a private school.
Police have not confirmed the cause of death. Officials said the post-mortem report and the investigation will help determine how the journalist died. No official conclusion has been announced so far.
