Bhopal Train Manager Acts Quickly to Save Woman Passenger

Bhopal: A train manager posted with the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway acted swiftly to save a woman passenger after she slipped while trying to board a moving train at Bhopal railway station on Tuesday.

The incident took place on board Train No. 12854 Amarkantak Express shortly after it departed from Platform No. 4 at around 4 pm. According to railway officials, the woman attempted to board the moving train when she lost her footing and began to slip towards the gap near the coach.

Train Manager Abhishek Parsai noticed the incident and immediately applied an emergency brake by releasing air pressure from the brake van, bringing the train to a halt within moments.

Railway staff safely rescued the woman before she could suffer serious injuries. She was shifted to the brake van, where she received first aid. Officials also informed the concerned railway authorities and arranged for medical assistance at Itarsi railway station for further treatment.

The injured passenger was identified as Seema Thakur, who was travelling from Bhopal to Pipariya.

The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway praised Parsai for his alertness, prompt decision-making and dedication to duty. Railway officials said his timely action helped prevent a major accident and reflected the organisation’s commitment to passenger safety.

The railway administration also urged passengers not to board or alight from moving trains and advised them to wait until the train comes to a complete halt before getting on or off.
