The Town and Country Planning Department carried out the drive against alleged illegal structures. Officials said the ramp outside Singh’s house had been built without the required approval. Several other structures in the area were also removed as part of the operation.
As the work was underway, Singh came outside and asked officials whether they planned to take any action inside his property. He also said his father had bought the house in 1991 and questioned why the ramp was being removed. The discussion remained polite and peaceful.
The actor also asked whether the demolition was being officially recorded and requested the name of the officer leading the operation. District Town Planner Amit Madhaulia introduced himself, and Singh shook hands with him and other officials before returning inside. A video of the exchange later spread widely on social media.
Officials said the drive against alleged unauthorised structures in the DLF area will continue.
Singh was last seen in the 2025 Hindi film Bayaan, directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra. The film stars Huma Qureshi as a police officer investigating allegations of sexual abuse against a powerful religious leader. It was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival.
