A 20-year-old woman in Sagar has alleged that a man sexually assaulted her on the pretext of marriage and a promise of help in getting a government job. Police have registered a case following her complaint and started an investigation.
The woman, a resident of the Motinagar area, told police that she met the accused while working at a school. She alleged that the two became friends and the man assured her of marriage and support for getting a government job.
She further alleged that the accused took her to a temple in Sagar on May 4 and later took her to a hotel in Jabalpur, where she claimed the assault took place. She also alleged that a similar incident occurred during a visit to Vrindavan.
The woman told police that she later returned home and informed her family after the accused allegedly avoided marriage. Following this, she approached the police and submitted a complaint.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections and are investigating the allegations. The accused’s statement has not been reported so far. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
