Model Shraddha Dubey, a prime accused in the alleged murder of Shiva Sharma, has been arrested in Nagpur, Maharashtra, according to media reports.
A joint team of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Lucknow Police carried out the arrest. Nagpur Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Agrawal also confirmed the arrest, reports said.
Further details about the arrest and the next steps in the investigation were awaited.
Dubey, 31, had reportedly been absconding since October 9, when Sharma, 28, allegedly fell from the balcony of an apartment building in the Balu Adda area of Lucknow’s Hazratganj locality.
The incident was initially treated as an accidental fall. However, Sharma’s family later alleged that he had been assaulted and tortured before being thrown from the building, prompting suspicions of murder.
Dubey, a fashion model and Sharma’s alleged live-in partner, is among those accused in the case. Her sister, Rashmi Dubey, a driver and two other people have also reportedly been named in the case.
The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations against the accused remain subject to the legal process.
