CM Performs Shastra Poojan in Indore

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav performed Shastra Poojan at the Indore Police Lines on Vijayadashami, highlighting the tradition’s association with Indian culture, valour and responsibility, according to a state government release.

The ceremony was held amid Vedic chants and included the worship of traditional weapons, including swords and spears, as well as modern firearms. The CM also worshipped police vehicles and horses and inspected the armoury. A women’s police contingent presented a guard of honour.

The CM said the tradition symbolised the responsibility to protect citizens and maintain law and order. He also extended Vijayadashami greetings and acknowledged the contribution of police personnel and their families.

During the event, the CM launched the Police Setu app, designed to help citizens identify their local police station and contact the officers responsible for their area. He also flagged off 51 two-wheelers provided to the Indore Police through corporate social responsibility funding to support traffic management and road safety.

The CM said the state planned to recruit personnel for 18,500 police posts over the next two years. He also announced plans to establish police bands in every district, with 750 personnel to be recruited for the initiative.

The CM said special examinations through the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission would be held next year as part of the government’s focus on youth.

Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said the department was working to improve public services through technology and other initiatives.
