A special legal awareness and health camp for persons with disabilities was organised in Bhopal to promote awareness of legal rights, social inclusion and access to government welfare schemes.
The camp was held under the guidance of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority through the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhopal. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the constitutional and legal rights of persons with disabilities while helping eligible beneficiaries access government support and services.
As part of the programme, a legal services camp was organised on July 13 at a charitable institution in Nehru Nagar. Participants were informed about their legal rights, legal protections, social welfare schemes and assistance available through the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. Officials also said eligible beneficiaries would be assisted in obtaining assistive devices through departmental coordination.
A team of doctors from the district hospital conducted free health check-ups, and health cards were issued on the spot to help beneficiaries access government welfare schemes.
According to officials, the District Legal Services Authority continues to work towards ensuring that eligible citizens receive free legal aid and improving awareness of legal rights among persons with disabilities.
Representatives from the legal services authority, the district hospital and other government departments attended the programme along with a large number of beneficiaries.
