Supplementary budget for 2026-27 sets aside funds for police modernisation, Narmada irrigation projects, farmer support and road building
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a supplementary budget of Rs 7,765.77 crore for the financial year 2026-27. Of this, Rs 907.59 crore has been set aside under the revenue head, while Rs 6,858.18 crore has been allocated under the capital head.
Under the Home Department, Rs 98.83 crore has been provided for the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), along with Rs 58.52 crore for modernising the police force.
The Revenue Department has been allocated Rs 397.54 crore to transfer funds received from the National Disaster Response Fund of the central government into the state disaster fund.
The Transport Department has received Rs 101 crore for the Chief Minister’s Sugam Parivahan Seva Yojana, along with Rs 28.26 crore for the PM E-Bus Seva Yojana.
Under the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Rs 313.18 crore has been set aside for the price support and flat rate scheme, while Rs 39.51 crore has been allocated for the Cotton Production Mission.
The Narmada Valley Development Department has received the largest share, with Rs 3,000 crore allocated for various irrigation projects and land acquisition.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has been given Rs 2,220.62 crore for loans to procurement agencies.
The Public Works Department has received a total of Rs 1,300 crore, covering the Central Road Fund, construction and upgrade of rural and other district roads, compensation for land acquisition, construction of major bridges, road strengthening, and payments for the completion of BOT projects.
The School Education Department has been allocated Rs 58.07 crore for its scheme to provide laptops to meritorious students, while the Higher Education Department has received Rs 50 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM USHA).
The Tourism Department has been given Rs 30 crore to implement the state tourism policy, and the Public Service Management Department has received Rs 25 crore for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis.
The Urban Development and Housing Department has been allocated Rs 21.41 crore for the PM E-Bus Seva Yojana, while the Water Resources Department has received Rs 10 crore for payment related to dredging work.
The Department for Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes has been given Rs 6.02 crore for hostels and scholarship schemes for denotified communities.
