Bhopal : In the state capital Bhopal, a 22-year-old man was allegedly abducted, stripped, beaten and humiliated by a group of men in the Hanumanganj area in what police said was linked to gang rivalry and a fight for local dominance.
Police said the 22-year-old victim, a labourer from Shabri Nagar, was lured to Nadra bus stand on Saturday, where the accused assaulted him with belts, kicks and punches before stripping him and attacking him with a knife. A video of the assault was later uploaded on Instagram to spread fear.
The victim alleged the attackers also urinated on his face when he asked for water. Police officials told the media that this allegation was not mentioned in the victim’s initial complaint.
Three accused, including Prem Thapa and Gattu Pistol, were recently released from jail. Police said the victim also has criminal cases registered against him. The accused remain absconding.
