Census 2027 work crosses 6.5 lakh houses in Bhopal

Bhopal census work gains momentum

The Bhopal census work under Census 2027 is progressing rapidly, with officials completing enumeration of more than 6.5 lakh houses during the first phase of the exercise.

According to the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, work has been nearly completed in over 1,600 census blocks out of a total of 3,284 blocks within municipal limits.

Municipal Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Sanskriti Jain honoured charge officers, supervisors and enumerators for their dedicated contribution to the survey process.

“The survey process is being carried out with continuous monitoring and coordinated field-level efforts,” officials said during the review meeting.

Officials honoured for fast survey progress

The civic body organised a felicitation programme at Atal Bhavan on Wednesday to recognise officials who completed survey work efficiently.

Certificates of appreciation were presented to charge and zonal officers Vikram Jha, Rajendra Ahirwar and Shubham Patel for completing work in their assigned areas.

Supervisors Shiksha Singh, Neelam Khare, Nitesh Nagar, Gajendra Shrivastava and Deep Mishra were also honoured for their performance during the survey exercise.

Senior officials, including Additional Commissioner Varun Awasthi and Deputy Commissioner Hiren Singh Kushwah, attended the programme.

Field review continues across census blocks

Officials said enumerators are conducting door-to-door verification and house listing work within the prescribed timeline.

Master trainers and officers from the Census Directorate are regularly visiting different zones to review progress and resolve operational challenges faced by field staff.

Sanskriti Jain has also been interacting directly with supervisors and enumerators to provide guidance and practical support during the exercise.

Action warning issued against negligence

The Municipal Corporation said strict action would be taken against officials found negligent during the national survey exercise.

Officials added that efficient employees are being recognised to encourage timely completion of the remaining work.

The civic body expects additional census blocks to be completed in the coming weeks.
