Bhopal: A ticket examiner (TTE) of the West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division helped reunite a 14-year-old girl with her family after finding her travelling alone on a train.
The girl was travelling in the sleeper coach (S-2) of train number 18235 Bhopal–Bilaspur Chhattisgarh Express between Bhopal and Bina when TTE Vijay Shrivas noticed that she was alone. Suspecting that something was wrong, he spoke to her.
During the conversation, the girl said she had left home after a family dispute.
The TTE immediately informed the railway control room. Following instructions, the girl was safely handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Vidisha railway station along with the required documents.
The RPF later contacted the girl’s family and reunited her with them safely.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria praised the TTE’s alertness, quick decision-making and humane approach. He said railway staff remain committed not only to safe train operations but also to the safety of passengers, especially women and children. He added that the timely action helped ensure the minor girl’s safety.
