Medical profession is a medium of human service, says CM Mohan Yadav

MP Health Department signs MoU with Sevankur Bharat project

Bhopal, May 18: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said the medical profession was not merely a business but a medium of human service. He said the state must prepare doctors who remain committed to serving patients and society.

The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing programme at Samatva Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal.

In the presence of CM Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, the state Health Department signed an MoU with Sevankur Bharat Project and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan. The agreement will remain valid for five years.

Programme aims to create service-oriented doctors

According to the state government, the MoU aims to develop Madhya Pradesh as a model state for service-oriented healthcare leadership. The initiative seeks to prepare a new generation of doctors who can become agents of social change along with medical professionals.

The programme is based on experience-based learning and value-based leadership development through service activities. Under the initiative, a special programme titled “Ek Saptah Desh Ke Naam” will be organised in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Around 300 participants will receive intensive training during the programme.

The government also plans to organise follow-up interaction sessions and personality development camps to ensure continued engagement with participants.

Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal and office-bearers of the Sevankur Bharat project were also present at the event.

Institution has served over 70 lakh patients

The state government said Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan was established in 1989 by doctors dedicated to social service.

Over the past three decades, the institution has provided affordable and compassionate healthcare services to more than 70 lakh underprivileged and needy patients.

Its main centre is Dr Hedgewar Hospital, which offers healthcare services with a focus on service, simplicity and professional excellence.

The institution currently operates 46 integrated projects across the country. These include multi-speciality hospitals in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik and Sivasagar in Assam, along with medical, nursing and physiotherapy colleges.

The organisation also runs advanced healthcare facilities such as cardiac surgery units, IVF centres, neonatal care services, MRI facilities and cath labs. It is also involved in social initiatives related to women and child welfare, vaccination drives and public health awareness campaigns.
