Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday carried out surprise inspections at wheat procurement centres in Khargone and Shajapur districts, reviewing arrangements and directing officials to ensure smooth operations for farmers.
CM visited Katargaon in Mandleshwar tehsil and Makodi village in Shajapur, where he assessed procurement systems, including weighing, slot booking and online payment processes. He instructed collectors and mandi officials to strictly follow procurement guidelines and ensure farmers face no inconvenience.
At Katargaon, the chief minister handed over a purchase receipt to farmer Suresh Patidar after procurement of 55 quintals of wheat, with a payment of Rs 1.44 lakh generated through the e-procurement portal.
He ordered that all six weighing scales at centres remain functional and directed authorities to provide adequate facilities such as shade, drinking water, seating and sufficient gunny bags, along with proper staffing and internet connectivity.
Interacting with farmers, CM sought feedback on procurement arrangements and assured them of timely payments through OTP-based systems. He reiterated that ensuring fair prices and respectful treatment for farmers remains a top priority.
In Makodi, he climbed a tractor trolley to inspect produce and spoke with farmers about their crops. CM also announced that the procurement deadline has been extended from May 9 to May 23, with a possibility of further extension if required.
