12 injured in violent clash between two groups in Datia village, firing triggers panic

Datia village clash leaves 12 injured after violent attack between two groups

A Datia village clash between two groups in Pachokhra village of Madhya Pradesh turned violent on Friday afternoon, leaving 12 people injured and triggering panic after alleged aerial firing during the confrontation.

The incident took place in Pachokhra village under the Indergarh police station area in Datia.

According to police, members of the Shivhare and Prajapati communities got into an argument over an old dispute around noon. The confrontation soon escalated into a violent clash, with both sides attacking each other using sticks, rods and axes.

Witnesses also reported aerial firing during the violence, causing fear among villagers.

“Police have registered cross cases against both groups and deployed forces in the village to prevent further tension.”

Police rush to spot after Datia village clash

After receiving information from villagers, police teams reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

Officials shifted the injured to the Community Health Centre in Indergarh for treatment.

One of the injured, identified as Devendra Shivhare, 30, sustained serious injuries. Doctors later referred him to Gwalior for advanced treatment.

Station House Officer Gaurav Sharma said police had registered cross FIRs against both groups and launched an investigation into the incident.

Police personnel remain deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.

Old rivalry linked to electricity dispute

According to police sources, tension between the two groups dates back nearly two months.

An earlier dispute had reportedly erupted over the laying of electricity wires in the village. CCTV footage of that earlier altercation had also surfaced at the time.

Investigators believe Friday’s violence may have stemmed from the same rivalry. Police are now examining both incidents together.

Among those injured from the Shivhare side are Devendra Shivhare, Naval Kishore, Govind Das and Anil.

The injured from the Prajapati side include Ram Bahadur, Gajju Ram Prajapati, Akhilesh Prajapati, Rahul Prajapati, Mahadeva, Barsa, Rachna Prajapati and Preeti Prajapati.
