Bhopal: Government schools in Madhya Pradesh will reopen for the new academic session from June 16, along with the second phase of the ‘School Chale Hum’ campaign, which will run till June 30.
The campaign will focus on bringing dropout and out-of-school children back into the education system and ensuring full enrolment in government schools. A “Shala Prarambh Utsav” will also be organised on the reopening day to mark the start of the academic session after summer break.
Authorities have directed schools to conduct special enrolment activities, improve learning outcomes and identify children who have discontinued education. District administrations will monitor implementation and progress regularly.
Teachers will use existing dropout lists and conduct door-to-door surveys to identify and re-enrol children. Child tracking systems and mobile-based monitoring tools will be used to update records of students outside the school system.
Instructions have also been issued for timely distribution of textbooks, online record updates and feedback on learning materials. Coordination between anganwadi centres and primary schools will be strengthened further.
Under the Mission Ankur programme, schools will implement measures to improve learning levels. Basic facilities such as clean toilets for girls, drinking water and sanitation have also been prioritised.
During the reopening event, new students and parents will be welcomed, and schools will organise student activities and provide meals on the first day. Parents will be informed about government education schemes and school facilities.
School management committees will monitor attendance of newly enrolled students, while district-level coordination will support outreach and enrolment efforts.
According to media reports, the directives have been issued by the state education authorities to ensure effective implementation of the campaign across districts.
