Adani Group to Build Rs 2,500 Crore Missile Plant in MP

Madhya Pradesh: The Adani Group will build a Rs 2,500 crore defence manufacturing facility in Shivpuri district, officials said on Sunday. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia laid the foundation stone for the project.

The plant will be developed by Adani Defence and Aerospace, a subsidiary of the Adani Group. It will include a missile complex, a composite propellant unit, and a TNT and explosives facility.

Officials said the project is aimed at supporting the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. It is also expected to create direct and indirect jobs for local people and help small and medium businesses join the defence supply chain. Representatives of the Adani Group were present at the event.

The company said it is working to make India self-reliant in defence production and reduce dependence on imports. The Shivpuri unit will produce a range of missile systems and build a complete defence manufacturing ecosystem.

It added that the facility will be developed over the next three years with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore and is expected to generate around 5,000 jobs. More than 50 MSMEs are likely to be part of the supply network.

Officials said development projects worth Rs 211.29 crore were also inaugurated and launched during the event.
