INDORE: A couple were found dead inside their locked home in Meghdoot Nagar in Indore on Sunday morning. Police suspect the husband killed his wife before taking his own life.
Neighbours alerted police after hearing the couple’s young daughter crying continuously. Officers broke open the door and found the bodies inside the house.
Investigators recovered a handwritten note from the scene. The note claimed the couple consumed poison due to disputes linked to the wife’s alleged relationship with another man. It also mentioned that custody of their daughter and property ownership should be transferred to her after she turns 18.
Police, however, found injury marks on the woman’s neck, raising suspicion that she may have been strangled before the husband died by suicide. Officers seized mobile phones and other evidence for forensic examination.
Investigators said the husband had recently confronted the man named in the note over the alleged affair. Family members also alleged that he was assaulted during the confrontation.
Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
