Rs 370 Biryani Row: Pranit More Says ‘I Was Wrong’, Seeks Second Chance

Comedian Pranit More has apologised over the controversy linked to the viral “Rs 370 biryani” video, saying he made a mistake by not stopping an audience member’s remarks during a live show.

In a video message released on Saturday, More said he had wanted to address the issue earlier but could not do so because his Instagram account had been suspended.

The comedian acknowledged the criticism he has faced since clips from the show spread widely on social media. He said people were upset for a valid reason and accepted responsibility for not intervening at the time.

“I was wrong. I should have stopped it at that moment,” More said in the video.

The controversy began after audience member Himanshu Jangra made remarks about a woman during More’s show. The comments triggered widespread criticism online after a video of the exchange went viral.

More said he became part of the atmosphere in the room and failed to take the right decision. He admitted that he could have stopped the conversation or objected to the remarks but chose not to do so.

He apologised to those who felt hurt by the incident and said he regretted giving a platform to the comments. More also confirmed that he is cooperating with authorities in the legal proceedings linked to the case.

The comedian appealed to the public for another chance and said the controversy had been a learning experience. He added that people would see the impact of that learning in his future work and content.

The row also led to scrutiny of comments made by others associated with the show. One such case involved MBBS student Sejal Pawar, whose remarks in another video from the programme also drew criticism online.

According to reports, Maharashtra Cyber Police has registered an FIR against More, Himanshu Jangra, Sejal Pawar and others linked to the matter. Investigations are continuing.
