CM Mohan Yadav Announces Bhavantar Scheme for Paddy Farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday announced that the Madhya Pradesh Government will extend the Bhavantar Scheme for Paddy Farmers, offering compensation when market prices fall below the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Addressing the state-level Dhan Mahotsav in Seoni, the Chief Minister said paddy growers will receive the difference between the MSP and the market price. He said the decision aims to protect farmers’ income and provide better price support.

Dr. Yadav said farmers are the backbone of the state’s economy and improving their income remains a key priority. He added that the prosperity of farmers is essential for the growth of both Madhya Pradesh and the country.

Millet Farmers Receive Bonus

The Chief Minister transferred Rs 2.84 crore as bonus payments to 3,941 millet farmers under the Rani Durgavati Shree Anna Protsahan Yojana. Farmers received a bonus of Rs 1,000 per quintal for kodo and kutki.

He said the state government is encouraging millet cultivation through procurement, value addition, branding and better market access.

Development Projects Worth Rs 494 Crore Unveiled

Dr. Yadav inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 629 development projects worth Rs 494.16 crore in Seoni district.

He also transferred Rs 365 crore in financial assistance to more than 16,700 worker families under the Chief Minister Sambal Scheme through direct benefit transfer.

The Chief Minister announced a four-lane road between Balaghat and Seoni, a government college in Chamari village, one mini stadium in each Assembly constituency of Seoni district and a Nagar Van project in Chhidiya Palari village.

CM Says UCC Proposal Will Be Introduced This Month

Dr. Yadav said the state government plans to introduce a proposal to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh later this month.

He said tribal communities would remain outside the scope of the proposed law. According to the Chief Minister, more than 10 lakh people have expressed support for the proposal.

The Chief Minister also urged farmers to adopt crop diversification, livestock farming and fisheries alongside traditional farming to improve their income and reduce dependence on a single crop.
