Bhopal: Fast bowler Animesh Singh from Bhopal has been selected in the MPCA Emerging Team. He will represent Madhya Pradesh in four practice matches against the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team from July 7 to 21 as part of the preparations for the upcoming domestic cricket season.
Animesh, who trains at the Vishvas Sarang Cricket Academy, met Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Kailash Sarang at his residence after the selection. The minister congratulated the young pacer and wished him success, encouraging him to represent the state with confidence and dedication.
Sarang said the state government has been working to strengthen sports infrastructure, improve training facilities and provide better support to athletes. He said these efforts are helping young sportspersons from Madhya Pradesh perform at the national level.
The MPCA Emerging Team also includes three other players from Bhopal — Prithviraj Singh Tomar, Tanishq Yadav and Tanmay Pandey. Their selection was based on recent performances.
Players selected for the first two practice matches have been asked to report at Holkar Stadium on July 3. Those selected for the final two matches will report on July 12.
The practice matches against Jammu and Kashmir are expected to provide valuable match experience for the young players ahead of the new domestic cricket season.
