MP Police Launches Online Leave System for Over 1 Lakh Personnel

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police has introduced an online leave management system for more than one lakh police personnel through the eHRMS (Electronic Human Resource Management System).

The eHRMS leave module has been rolled out across all police units in the state from July 1 on the instructions of Director General of Police Kailash Makwana. The new system allows police officers and staff to apply for leave online, receive approvals and check the status of their applications through a single digital platform.

The initiative is part of the department’s efforts to modernise service management and improve transparency, efficiency and speed in administrative processes.

The police department began digitising service records under the eHRMS project in July 2025. More than one lakh service books have been scanned with the support of the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation>, and nearly 1.02 lakh police personnel have now been onboarded onto the platform.

An Order Book Module, launched in March this year, has also enabled the department to store and access important service-related orders digitally, improving record management.

Before the statewide rollout, the online leave module was tested in selected police units, including the State Crime Records Bureau, Special Branch, Railway Police Bhopal and the 25th Battalion in Bhopal. The department said the system was refined based on feedback received during the pilot phase.

Police personnel can now submit leave applications through the eHRMS portal or the mobile application, available on Android and iOS devices. Leave eligibility, leave balance and different leave categories have already been integrated into the system. Applications will move digitally through the approval process, allowing employees to monitor their status in real time.

According to the department, the police force is currently among the largest users of the eHRMS leave module in the state, with around 1,01,928 officers and employees using the digital service.
