Vishvas Sarang launches Rs 23 crore Bhopal sewer project in Ward 78
Madhya Pradesh Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishvas Sarang on Sunday inaugurated a major Bhopal sewer project worth more than Rs 23 crore in Ward 78 under the Narela Assembly constituency.
The project, launched in Vishwakarma Nagar, aims to strengthen sanitation infrastructure, reduce waterlogging and improve civic amenities for thousands of families in the area.
Sewer network to benefit over 35,000 residents
According to officials, the project includes:
- A 42-kilometre sewer network worth Rs 13 crore
- Around 8,079 house sewer connections costing Rs 9 crore
The government said nearly 35,306 residents will directly benefit from the upgraded sewage infrastructure.
“Our goal is not only to carry out development works but also to make life easier and healthier for every citizen,” Mr Sarang said during the programme.
He added that the project would improve cleanliness, reduce waterlogging and create a healthier environment for residents.
Bhopal sewer project part of broader urban development push
Mr Sarang said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is focusing on infrastructure and public welfare projects across Madhya Pradesh.
The minister said modern sewer systems and improved sanitation facilities are essential for sustainable urban growth.
Residents welcome development works
Local residents and public representatives attended the foundation-laying ceremony in large numbers.
People from the area welcomed the project and thanked the government for approving large-scale civic infrastructure works in Ward 78.
Officials said the upgraded sewer system would improve public hygiene and support long-term urban development in the locality.
