Massive MP Police combing operation targets absconders and habitual offenders
The Madhya Pradesh Police conducted a statewide overnight MP Police combing operation against criminals, absconders and anti-social elements, leading to the execution of more than 2,100 warrants across the state.
The special operation, which continued from late night until early morning, involved over 2,500 police officers and personnel deployed across multiple districts.
Officials said the campaign aimed to strengthen public safety, intensify action against fugitives and reinforce law enforcement presence in sensitive areas.
Police target history-sheeters, illegal liquor and narcotics
During the operation, police teams carried out checks on listed criminals, history-sheeters, externed offenders and habitual troublemakers.
Authorities also launched action against:
- Illegal liquor trade
- Gambling and betting rackets
- Illegal weapons
- Drug trafficking networks
“The objective is to create fear of law among criminals and strengthen public confidence in policing,” officials said.
Gwalior records highest number of arrests
In Gwalior, police arrested 249 absconders, including:
- 121 permanent warrant absconders
- 128 arrest warrant accused
Police also checked 303 listed offenders and launched action against illegal liquor and weapons.
Major district-wise action during MP Police combing operation
Jabalpur
Jabalpur police executed 191 warrants, including:
- 120 permanent warrants
- 71 arrest warrants
Tikamgarh
In a two-day mega operation in Tikamgarh, police executed 467 warrants and carried out intensive vehicle checks and excise raids.
Morena
Morena police arrested 150 accused, including absconders and reward-carrying criminals. Officers also seized illegal liquor worth around Rs 44,000.
Vidisha
Police in Vidisha raided 720 locations and executed 297 warrants. Teams also checked 158 history-sheeters and 11 externed criminals.
Ujjain
Ujjain police executed 200 warrants and arrested four accused linked to serious crimes, including murder and attempted murder.
Mandsaur
In Mandsaur, police seized:
- 68 grams of MD drugs
- 65 kg of doda chura from a car
- 57.24 litres of illegal liquor
Police also registered gambling-related cases and issued traffic challans.
Statewide campaign to continue
Police officials said similar operations will continue across Madhya Pradesh to track absconders and curb organised criminal activity.
The department said the campaign has helped improve surveillance and strengthen coordination between district police units.
