BHOPAL: The Municipal Corporation on Saturday continued its anti-encroachment drive across several parts of the state capital, removing illegal structures and roadside obstructions from multiple areas.
Acting on complaints received through civic helplines and as part of routine enforcement, municipal teams removed handcarts, kiosks, paan stalls, counters, signboards, illegally built platforms and sheds, besides construction material and goods kept outside shops that were obstructing traffic movement.
The drive covered areas including Katara Hills, Hoshangabad Road, Ayodhya Bypass, MP Nagar, New Market, Jahangirabad, Hamidia Road, Karond and Bhanpur.
During the operation, officials cleared sand and gravel dumped on roads in Katara Hills and nearby colonies, removed illegal platforms in Indus Town and Karond Housing Board Colony, and towed away around 20 four-wheelers parked in a manner that obstructed traffic near Chetak Bridge in Kasturba Nagar.
Municipal teams also removed vegetable carts near Jawahar Chowk and seized a handcart, a paan parlour setup, 32 crates, a weighing scale, a signboard and plywood sheets during the drive.
