Madhya Pradesh will showcase its MP rural tourism, tribal culture and heritage sites through a Spanish television series that will air in more than 80 countries.
Spanish production company Colors Communication Group recently completed filming for the series “Rural Tourism of the World” at several locations in the state.
The project aims to give MP rural tourism greater global visibility and strengthen the state’s image as a film tourism destination.

Crew films tribal culture in Chhindwara
The film crew shot several parts of the series in tribal and rural areas of Chhindwara district.
The team visited Savarvani, Dhoosavani, Chimtipur and Tamia. It documented tribal traditions, village life and local culture in the Patalkot region.
The crew also filmed traditional tribal wedding rituals and everyday life in the villages.
Spanish director Juan Frutos praised the hospitality at the Dhoosavani homestay.
“These villages reflect the real roots of India,” Frutos said.
MP rural tourism gains international attention
Officials linked the project to agreements signed during the FITUR Madrid 2026 tourism fair held in Spain earlier this year.
The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has promoted the state as a film-friendly destination under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
The series will also feature major tourist sites, including Sanchi Stupa, Bhimbetka rock shelters, Satpura National Park and Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga.
Officials said the series would present the state’s culture, spirituality, wildlife and rural life to international audiences.
Film tourism may help local businesses
The tourism board provided permissions, logistics support, security and local coordination for the shoot.
Officials expect such international projects to support homestays, handicrafts and local tourism businesses linked to MP rural tourism.
In recent years, Madhya Pradesh has become a preferred location for Bollywood films, web series and international documentaries.
Tourism officials believe film tourism can improve the state’s global image while creating jobs and supporting rural tourism.
