BHOPAL: The district administration in Bhopal has launched a Central Registration Unit (CRU) at the Collector’s Office to strengthen paperless governance under the state’s e-Office project.
Officials said the new system will speed up official communication and improve transparency in government work. It will also reduce paper use across departments.
The administration introduced the CRU following directions from the General Administration Department (GAD). Under the system, officials will now send all correspondence and documents to the Collector’s Office through the dedicated e-mail ID cru-dmbhopal@eauth.in.
Meanwhile, the district administration has onboarded several departments onto the e-Office platform. These include revenue sections, tehsil offices and Janpad Panchayats.
District department heads, tehsildars, revenue officers and chief executive officers of Janpad Panchayats now use the digital system for official work.
In addition, the administration organised a training programme for employees and officers to ensure smooth implementation of the platform.
Experts from the e-Office project and senior technical officials from the National Informatics Centre explained the technical and administrative features of the system during the session.
Officials said the e-Office platform will help departments clear files faster. It will also improve accountability and support environmental conservation by cutting paper consumption.
