MP Cabinet approvals focus on welfare and governance

The MP Cabinet approvals announced by the Madhya Pradesh government on Wednesday include financial proposals worth Rs 30,055 crore for welfare schemes, crop insurance, labour welfare and infrastructure development. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal.

The state government also approved the transfer policy for 2026 and cleared allocations for pension schemes, women and child safety programmes and drinking water projects. Officials said the decisions were aimed at improving governance and expanding welfare delivery across the state.

“The decisions are aimed at improving welfare delivery and strengthening governance across Madhya Pradesh,” officials said after the meeting.

Transfer policy approved under MP Cabinet approvals

The government approved the transfer policy for state and district-level officers and employees for 2026.

Under the policy, transfers will be allowed between June 1 and June 15, 2026. Officials said employees facing serious medical conditions and spouse-related transfer cases will remain outside the standard transfer limits.

Transfers of Class III and Class IV employees within districts will require approval from ministers in charge, while senior-level postings will need approval from the Chief Minister.

MP Cabinet approvals clear Rs 11,608 crore for crop insurance

The Cabinet approved Rs 11,608.47 crore for the continued implementation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana from 2026-27 to 2030-31.

The scheme provides financial assistance to farmers affected by crop loss or damage caused by natural disasters and adverse weather conditions. Officials said eligible farmers will receive a minimum claim amount of Rs 1,000 per season.

The Agriculture Department has also been authorised to issue operational guidelines for the scheme’s implementation.

Pension schemes receive major allocation

Under the MP Cabinet approvals, the government sanctioned Rs 15,184.42 crore for pension schemes benefiting senior citizens, widowed women and persons with disabilities.

The allocation includes support for the Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and the Samagra Social Security Pension Scheme.

Eligible beneficiaries will continue receiving Rs 600 per month under the schemes. Officials said the allocation will ensure uninterrupted financial support for vulnerable sections of society over the next five years.

Drinking water projects expanded in Seoni and Dewas

The Cabinet granted revised administrative approval worth Rs 593.24 crore for group water supply projects in Seoni and Dewas districts.

Officials said additional villages and settlements were included under the Jal Jeevan Mission to expand household tap water connections.

The revised approval includes increased funding for pipelines, overhead tanks and rural water supply infrastructure.Women and child safety schemes get financial support

The government sanctioned Rs 156 crore for women and child safety programmes between 2026-27 and 2030-31.

The amount includes funding for Child Helpline services, support for POCSO victims and the Shaurya Dal initiative. Authorities also plan to expand helpline services in newly created districts and transport hubs.

Officials said the schemes are designed to strengthen child protection mechanisms and improve community participation in women’s safety initiatives.

Labour welfare and governance initiatives approved

The Labour Department received approval for Rs 1,779.07 crore for worker welfare schemes, labour courts and insurance-related services.

The Cabinet also approved Rs 373.38 crore for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis for governance research, policy studies and youth development programmes.

The institute will continue programmes related to governance reforms, policy analysis and public administration research.
