Bhopal Division Commissioner Karmveer Sharma has directed education officials to ensure 100 per cent enrolment of children in Class 1 across all districts of the division by July 15.
Chairing a review meeting of the School Education Department on Wednesday, Sharma asked District Education Officers to closely monitor admissions, improve learning outcomes and ensure the effective implementation of government education schemes.
He instructed officials to carry out daily monitoring of admissions and make intensive efforts to bring every eligible child into the school system within the next week. He also directed officials to complete student mapping on the Education Portal 3.0.
The Commissioner said nodal officers should be appointed in all government and private schools to speed up student mapping on the portal. He also asked Joint Director of School Education, Dharmendra Sharma, to submit daily progress reports.
Reviewing learning programmes, Sharma directed officials to begin preparations for the 2026-27 targets under the Ankur Mission, which aims to strengthen basic literacy and numeracy among students from Classes 1 to 3. He said all government schools should work towards achieving better academic performance this year.
The Commissioner also reviewed the Ulhas Nav Bharat Literacy Programme and asked districts to identify all adults above the age of 15 who still require basic literacy and numeracy skills. He directed officials to run awareness campaigns at ward and gram panchayat levels and ensure registration through the Ulhas mobile application.
Sharma further instructed district authorities to ensure the distribution of textbooks and bicycles to eligible students through the Vimarsh Portal.
The meeting focused on improving educational quality, strengthening monitoring systems and ensuring that government schemes reach beneficiaries on time.
