Residents in nearly 75 localities of Bhopal will face disruption in water supply on June 2 and 3 as the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) undertakes essential repair work on the Kolar gravity main pipeline.
According to civic officials, the maintenance work will begin at 10 am on June 2 and continue until 10 am on June 3. As a result, water supply through the Kolar line-connected distribution network will remain suspended during the repair period.
To minimise inconvenience, the Municipal Corporation has arranged alternative water supply through tankers in affected areas.
The disruption will impact several localities across multiple municipal zones. Areas under Zone 3, including Nariyal Kheda, Regiment Road, Shahjahanabad, Murgi Bazar, Ram Nagar, Resham Kendra and East and West Nishatpura, will be affected.
In Zone 4, water supply will remain interrupted in Chouksey Nagar, Green Park, Indira Sahayata Nagar, DIG Bungalow area, Shanti Nagar, Sindhi Colony, Bhopal Talkies, Hamidia Road and Sangam Talkies localities.
Residents of Moti Masjid, Ginnori, Ibrahimpura, Budhwara, Itwara, Mangalwara, Kali Mandir, Islampura, Central Library area and Chhawani under Zone 5 will also face disruption.
In Zone 6, the affected areas include 1100 Quarters, Shahpura, Trilanga, E-7 Arera Colony, Panchsheel Nagar, Shyam Nagar and 12 Number Multi.
Water supply will also remain affected in Tulsi Nagar, Mata Mandir, Chakki Chauraha and Shivaji Nagar under Zone 7.
Several localities connected to the Kolar network in Zone 8, including Char Imli, Chuna Bhatti, Kolar Basti, Durga Nagar, Pampapur, Rahul Nagar, Vaishali Nagar, Suruchi Nagar, Nivesh Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Kotra Sultanabad, Naya Basera and Ambedkar Nagar, will witness disruption.
In Zone 10, residents of MP Nagar Zone-II, Arera Colony sectors E-1 to E-7, Ishwar Nagar, Gulmohar Colony, Laxman Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Sai Baba Board area and Janata Quarters will also be affected.
The civic body has advised residents to store adequate water in advance and use water judiciously during the maintenance period.
